Tahini, Banana & Carob Smoothie
This is a great recipe to boost your calcium intake. For women particularly, it can be hard to reach your daily calcium intake through diet alone. Tahini is one of the highest food sources of calcium and is an effective way to boost your intake. Tahini is made by grinding either hulled, or unhulled sesame seeds. Unhulled tahini is the best choice as it is made using the whole seed, and therefore higher in vitamins and minerals. This is a delicious smoothie to make as a snack or for breakfast, once you try it you will be addicted!
1 banana (frozen)
1 tablespoon tahini
1 tablespoon flax seed or chia seed
1 teaspoon honey
1 tsp carob powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup almond milk
Combine all ingredients in the blender, and enjoy!!
