Cognitive Assessment

Accurately measure your cognitive function, including memory, attention, reasoning and verbal abilities with our online brain health assessment service.

We all have a subjective idea of how our brains are doing—some days we feel “off” or have “brain fog,” while other days we feel like we can take on the world. But how much better are we on the good days? And are lifestyle or health challenges making a difference and impacting your quality of life?

That’s where cognitive assessment comes in. By putting a number to these feelings, you can discover what is causing the good days in order to have more of them.

You can now understand how your condition and other lifestyle factors are affecting your brain function by completing a simple cognitive assessment.

TAKE ACTION today to:

  1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of your brain health
  2. Provide a base-line assessment for your healthcare professional to individualize treatment plan – “If you don’t measure it, you can’t manage it,” the saying goes.
  3. Re-assess your cognition throughout treatment to objectively measure improvements, giving you confidence that interventions are having the desired effects.
  4. Continue monitoring post-treatment to ensure you’re maintaining a level of cognitive function that enables you to live your best life

Using a tablet, desktop or laptop computer, you’ll take a series of quick, fun, and engaging tasks that have been created to measure your memory, concentration, reasoning and verbal abilities—all core areas of cognition that may be affected by a mental health condition.

The tasks you will complete have been developed by leading neuroscientists over the last 25+ years, taken over 8 million times, and used in 300+ peer-reviewed studies of cognition, and are proven to measure the most important aspects of cognition.  But more importantly, the tasks are fun, and only take 1.5 – 3 minutes each to complete. There are twelve tasks in total when taking the full assessment.

Please note that this not your typical clinical appraisal tool, and the tasks are not an IQ test! Think of it more like a blood pressure cuff for your brain. There’s no judgment, and the goal is progress over time.

Improved cognitive performance has important effects on your everyday life. Whether you’re remembering where you parked your car, learning a new task at work, or trying to figure out your taxes, your brain health affects nearly every aspect of your life.

Results for each task you complete will indicate where you stand relative to others in your age group.

Over time, and as you implement changes and progress through treatment, you’ll begin to see performance trends so that you can objectively evaluate how treatment is affecting you.

Your healthcare professional will use this information to ensure they target the right areas during treatment, and then re-assess periodically to measure your progress. A sample CBS Health report is available here.

Our Approach

Core Naturopathics has teamed up with the world leader in cognitive assessment – Cambridge Brain Science.

The ability to utilise the most advanced measurement in cognitive health bolsters our definition of “holistic” by allowing for a measurement of cognitive capacity.

Cognition is the ability to clearly think, learn and remember. Genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors are all thought to influence cognition and health. This simply means that the most effective way to maintain healthy cognition is to improve lifestyle factors. These factors include:

  1. Physical activity
  2. Openness to Experience
  3. Curiosity and Creativity
  4. Social Connections
  5. Mindfulness Meditation
  6. Brain-training Games
  7. Get Enough Sleep
  8. Reduce Chronic Stress

You are now able to take this assessment on-line as a one off test or purchase multiples as part of an ongoing health strategy.

We are also including this on-line cognition test as a standard part of our Holistic Health Assessment (HHA). This will represent an amazing companion in gaining a more holistic understanding of your health.
